Budgeting
Are you not able to get ahead? Are you living paycheck to paycheck? Or are you wondering where your money is going? Our office can assist with setting up a budget to put you on track to financial success. We have the tools and steps to help you succeed.
The basic steps to setup a budget:
- Gather your financial statements – bank accounts, monthly bills, investments, etc.
- List your monthly sources of income
- List your monthly expenses
- Determine those which are fixed expenses (happen every month) – rent, cable, internet, credit card payments, car payments, etc.
- Determine those which are variable expenses (amounts are subject to change or happen infrequently) – groceries, entertainment, clothing, vacations, etc.
- Determine your net income by deducting your total monthly expenses from your total monthly income
- Change your spending – If you have negative net income, are you able to cut out some variable expenses? Keeping track of your spending is a great way to determine where your money is going and where changes can be made.
- Review and change as needed – Do you have a positive net income each month? If so, look at other goals – creating an emergency fund, start an investment, contribute to your employer retirement plan, etc.
We are here to help. Contact us for assistance for tools, guidance and accountability for your budgeting needs!

Life Insurance
Life insurance can help to protect your loved ones from financial difficulty if you pass away prematurely. The basic life insurance choices are Term, Whole Life, or Universal Life. Which option you choose depends on your needs.
Would you like to have insurance while the kids are young or while paying off a mortgage? A term life insurance could be the answer.
Would you like to have insurance to cover burial expenses or to transfer assets to your beneficiaries? A whole life insurance policy could be the answer.
Would you like to have insurance with a flexible premium option along with a whole life insurance policy? A universal life insurance policy could be the answer.
If you are unsure, we are here to assist with reviewing the options available to you and what they would cost.

Education Planning
With the rising educational costs, we can assist with saving for your children’s or grandchildren’s educational needs. The basic ways to save are 529 Accounts, Coverdell Education Savings Accounts and Uniform Gift to Minor or Uniform Transfer to Minor accounts.
Which options works for you may depend on some of the following:
- Are you looking for tax deductions?
- Are you waiting withdrawals to be tax free?
- Are you wanting to use the funds only for secondary education (2- year or 4- year colleges, etc), K-12 or both?
- Who do you want to have control of the assets?
- How is each account reported for FAFSA and how will it affect your child?
Our advisors are happy to review the options and assist with putting your child on the right track for covering college expenses.
